Dyslexia Assessments

A dyslexia assessment will give a full and detailed written report including a full list of recommendations for support at school and at home. This will be completed within three weeks of the actual assessment. The report will also be written so that various parties can identify information useful to them; Teachers, SENCOs, parents, teaching assistants and educational psychologists.

The assessment takes between two to three hours with breaks. The tests are able to pick out strengths as well as weaker areas for support and will highlight strategies to improve learning and working methods. All tests are standardised and so provide evidence of performance relative to the norm.

As an assessor of Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) there may be occasions when the evidence from pre-testing questionaires and diagnostic assessments mean that a referal may need to be made to an appropriate specialist.  These may include:

ADHD

Dyscalculia (numeracy)

ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder)

Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (Dyspraxia)

Visual Difficulties.
